Fitness should be fun, and health is holistic. There is no one way to exercise, and no single exercise will fix your fitness. What makes fitness exciting is that it can be unique, individual, and personalized. It’s a place where you can be curious about which expressions of movement feel fun and exciting to you. While building muscle and losing weight are common reasons to find a gym or start exercising, it’s everything beyond the physical that makes me so excited to share health and fitness with others. It’s the empowerment, self-confidence, groundedness, and community built through fitness that keep me consistent and motivated to push myself and others.
Growing up, I didn’t take sports too seriously, but I remember playing a lot. I rarely considered performance or outcome. Instead, I was totally in the moment, honoring the feeling of running around barefoot or climbing a tree. I was curious about what my body could do and what I could explore. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to appreciate both outcome and process.
I come from a strong background in exercise science, with a specialization in medical rehabilitation from UT Austin. I learned a lot about how the body works, but I’ve seen, in my own life and in the lives of others, that training is about more than anatomy and programming. The best results come when movement is enjoyable, sustainable, and connected to how a person feels. I bring both the science and the playfulness to my training, so my clients build strength and reach their goals while also rediscovering the joy of moving their bodies.
Good community is like the friend who keeps you accountable, is reliable, and gives you a healthy sense of peer pressure. It’s a pillar that supports you and keeps you grounded when everything else feels unaligned. I struggled to find consistent community growing up, and it wasn’t until after college that I found people who were authentically curious about knowing and supporting each other. Cycling is my main sport, and while I genuinely love it, I would never be where I am right now without the help of an amazing community. It’s people thinking selflessly and understanding that great things are not accomplished alone.
